Apprenticeship as energy electronics specialist, business engineering studies with the focus on production & logistics at the University of Applied Sciences, Gelsenkirchen. From 2005 to 2011 in the project planning at Börger Drehkolbenpumpen GmbH, graduate of the Pump engineer study programme 2007/2008. Thereafter, project engineer in the engineering and then two years project manager in the international EBC, business at Flowserve Ahaus GmbH.

Since 2014 working in the Competence Centre Machinery, specialist planning of pumps in the engineering of the Evonik Technology & Infrastructure GmbH in Marl. In 2016, Mr. Ostendorf became head of the Special planning unit pumps and of the working group Pumps at Evonik Industries AG. Since 2018 he is Head of the Competence Centre Engineering Machinery and Expert for Pump Technology. Mandated member of the DIN standards working group centrifugal and displacement pumps at the VDMA in Frankfurt and vice-head of the working group Pumps in the chemical industry  (VCI - German Chemical Industry Association).
